Mrs. Amy Nimz
Welcome Back, Hornet Families!
I hope this letter finds you well and that you had a restful and enjoyable summer break. As we prepare for the start of the 2025–2026 school year, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the learning, growth, and connections that await us.
This year, we begin our looping model in the core classes. Looping allows students to remain with the same team of teachers in math, science, language arts, and social studies for their duration of middle school. This model strengthens relationships, builds deeper understanding of each student’s learning style, and supports both academic and social growth. We are excited to see the positive impact this will continue to have on our Hornets!
We are also returning to student fees this year. These fees help cover the cost of materials, supplies, and activities that enhance your child’s school experience. Fees can be paid in the main office at any time via cash, check or credit card (with additional processing fee). We understand that financial circumstances vary, and we are committed to ensuring that all students have access to the resources and opportunities they need. If the listed fees present a hardship for your family, you may request a fee waiver here. Information about how to apply for a waiver will be available through your school office.
We are thrilled to welcome our new students and families to the Dexter McCarty Middle School community. Transitioning to middle school can feel exciting and a little overwhelming, and we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. To our returning students and families—welcome back! We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
At Dexter McCarty, we believe in fostering a love of learning, encouraging creativity, and building strong character. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Parents and guardians, your partnership is essential. Staying connected through events, open communication, and involvement makes our community stronger and ensures success for all students.
